Maine Career Connect tackles the non-job related stresses of relocation, freeing up your new employees to focus their attention on you. Our focus is on getting your new hire and their family settled, connected and engaged in the community, which positively impacts your business’s productivity and reduces turnover. (IJBM)

Pre-hire Consultations and Community Tours

A Maine Career Connect staffer will meet with your candidate in person or over the phone to give them details about the area and answer questions. We address everything from quality and cost of living to questions about lifestyle, special needs and circumstances and more. Because we’re separate from the hiring process and totally confidential, we can speak to things that are outside the scope of an interview but that have a direct impact on how likely a candidate is to be happy in their new community. And if there’s time in your schedule, we offer personalized 2-3 hour community tours to show your candidate the best that the area has to offer.

Community Transition

Maine Career Connect works to make your new hire’s move and transition as smooth as possible. We help them to find housing that fits their needs and budget, provide them with a resource guide to help them navigate the obstacles of moving to a new community and answer any questions they have along the way. Once they’ve moved, we connect them to the community through strategic social networking opportunities, invitations to community events and introductions to volunteer opportunities designed to help them engage in a meaningful way.

Dual Career/Professional Development

Partner accommodation is a critical piece of today’s hiring and retention puzzle. Maine Career Connect services can give your company all the benefits of a top notch internal partner accommodation program at a fraction of the cost. We work with the partner or spouse of your new hire to devise a personalized action plan, including one-on-one career coaching, resume and interview advice and introductions to key people for informational interviews and professional networking.
